dog bite

About a month ago I noticed this tall orange can of beer with a ferocious 3 headed dog on it at Wegmans.  I love dogs, so I picked it up.  It is a 24 oz can with a 10% abv.  I really liked it.  I am having one right now and my views have changed.  After my first sip I thought it was horrible.  I choked down the first half and am onto the second.  It tastes better now.  I am mentioning this because it has given me some inspiration for paintings.  What I like even more is it is brewed in my hometown of Rochester, NY.  Here is the label on the can.

not sure if i like it now

So a few weeks have passed and I have been painting a bit more then usual.  Things are coming together in the Chapel painting, or so I thought.  I am looking at it in natural light and it is very dull.  At night it is hard to tell, but I can see it now.  It is a little disappointing.  I am using thinner in the paint instead of thinner/galkyd lite mixture.  I will have to freshen it up a bit. 

And here is this thingy.  I don't even know what is up with these.

Yes, another image of the same painting in progress.  I really hope this is kind of cool to most of you.  I'm trying to have an interesting blog, but I really have no clue.  

 

I paint in spurts and quickly most of the time.  Really I think I can paint for a half hour to an hour and that is enough.  I can cover the canvas in that time without getting muddy.  I don't know if that is good or bad, but it is part of my process.   Maybe I need more pieces to work on.  Did I just use I enough?

same dog, new direction

Here is the new image of Chapel.  I have a good feeling about this one.  Not much has changed, I was a little nervous to draw her again because the last few times have been horrible. 

I think I want the majority of the painting to be white.  There will be things flying around her head and in the background, not sure what though.  I am not sure if there will be stencils in this one. 
Speaking of stencils, I just finished messing around with them.

I have nothing against skinny pants, I could just see myself saying this to a friend.  I can't find my K, so it really doesn't even make sense.  I do like the way it looks though.  That is a Rachael original underneath, it was headed to the garbage.  Use it, right?
