I have noticed this for about 5 years at least now.

My bro, the doctor....
I don't know if anyone remembers talking about my brother Mike going to vet school. Well he is half way through and just did his first surgery the other day. I think he took a dogs manhood. haha. He was excited. Well, here he is in all his glory, elbow deep in cow ass with a weirdo beard. Great job Mike!

mulligan
I'm taking a mulligan on this one. Take 3. Action!
So if you are wondering, I am not a finalist in the Pernod Absinthe competition and I have not heard back from Nazareth yet. I will e mail them, maybe. As for the Made in New York competition, I have lost count, but this is the 4th or 5th year in a row I have been rejected. I am pretty pissed. About all this. It doesn't help that Eminems "The way I am" is on pandora.
I am not sure what is next. Actually I will enter the Finger Lakes Exhibition this month. It's not the end of the world, I don't even apply to many shows/competitions or even send my work out to really be disappointed I guess. But I really can't stand being rejected. This is not a hobby for me. This is what I have. A few beers in the studio trying to get ready to paint. It's frustrating.
Alright, enough of the crybaby shit, time to paint.

Exit through the Gift Shop
I mentioned this yesterday as one of the movies we have rented this year. I know it came out last year, but I wanted to share in case anyone missed out. It is a great documentary on graffiti/street art. I thought it was really well done and I really like Banksy, even before this film. It was nice to have an inside look at how these artists create and execute their work. I don't think I could be that ballsy. I was extremely furious at the end, but it also could have been jealousy. I am not afraid to admit it. Not jealous of the artist, but of his luck. Go figure. I suggest checking it out.

passing the time
Jen and I have been renting or going to the movies a lot lately. I am so sick of working, it's boring. The weekend gig can go to hell too. So I guess movies have been my revolt against doing things I should be doing. I also want to spend time with Jen instead of being a bum ass. I really wish the studio was my "job". Building cabinets can eat shit. So far this year we have watched in no particular order:
Black Swan
True Grit
The Social Network
No Strings Attached
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
Eat. Pray. Love.
Salt
Exit Through the Gift Shop
Cyrus
The Other Guys
Iron Man 2
I think that is about right.
I also just knocked a giant hole in the attic to start the project I talked about late last year. Getting ready to stud the room that will be that bathroom. Should be fun. The studs in the image will be moved about 2 feet to the right.
Maybe a post about painting tomorrow.........

busy i think
I have been trying to submit work to a few exhibitions lately. Not to sure what to expect out of this. Most of the time I get rejected, but we will see what happens. I want to focus on that a bit more because I just can't continue stacking my paintings in the studio. They need to leave. So far I sent a cd to Nazareth College and have entered the Made in NY competition. I also created a drawing for Pernod Absinthe, they have a competition in which the piece created has to have the date 1805 in it. 1805 is the year Pernod Fils created absinthe. That one has a money prize for the top three. I really hope I place.
Next up will be the Finger Lakes Exhibition at the MAG. Something has to happen right??
My entry for Pernod.....
