cool graffiti pics/new work

I shot these today, crawled under a fence in a no tress passing area and could not believe the amount of work that was done all over theses buildings. Graffiti is something I wish I could do. I would love to go out and make a giant wall covering. It is inspiring to me.

NEW WORK/WORK IN PROGRESS

good news

The good news is that Jen found the camera in the pocket of her red coat. I will take some shots of new work tomorrow and post them. I still can't find my flash drive though. If anyone has any information about the missing flash drive, please call crime stoppers immediately!
I have been working on a small painting for the past month now and it just plain old sucks. I can't stop working on it either. I am not sure what to do with it. Some parts I really appreciate and others can just go to hell. Later.

Here is a piece by my undergrad professor JS Bird, it is probably about time I post one of his works. Does this mean I can't use the chandelier image I have??

Happy Easter

Happy Easter peeps! Do you get the word play? Anyways, my camera may officially be lost. We have to look a bit harder but I think it is gone. Also, I think I lost my flash drive. Bummer. Other than that I have had a few great days in the studio lately and I can't wait to go tomorrow. I am trying to be very loose with my brush work so we will see what happens. Hope everyone enjoyed Easter and have a great night!

April fools

Hi everyone! HA, I say everyone like there is an everyone. Well for those that have been paying attention to my blog, I have to say I am sorry that I have not posted pretty much all month. I am not to sure what I am doing with this so I just stopped posting. I would like it to be unique and worth reading but I could not figure out how to do that. So that is what has been going on.

Gino has been awfully challenging to Jen and I lately. He believes he is the ruler of the house and that what he says goes. It's true, he told me that. Jen left for San Diego last week and when she closed the door he looked at me and said "Jim, you are toast!" But lately his tune has changed a bit. I guess that is what a down-and-stay followed by an alpha role followed by an alpha role followed by another alpha role followed by a sit-and-stay does. Good boy!

In art related news, I have been rejected from the Made in New York exhibition again. Yes, again. Maybe next year. Lets not hold our breathes for the Finger Lakes Exhibition. Some good news is I will be adding new prints to my shop in the next few weeks. I do not have any pics this week because I can't find my camera.

Well with that said, happy Wednesday!

back in action

I went to the studio for awhile yesterday and I think I am back in action. I mostly talked to my studiomates who gave me some great advice and I now feel motivated. Thanks girls! March will be a productive month. So look out, it's over Johnny! Giant paintings.

In other news, my friend Dan said he will body slam Henri Rousseau. I second that.

I am also entering the Made in New York show again this year. Cross your fingers for me. One.

on to March

I am so happy February is over. I don't know what is was about last month but I need to start over and get out of this funk. I feel like I was a crabby bastard the entire month, just ask Jen. I went to the studio today and did very little in the hours I was there, but at least it felt good to be there. The press is down! The press is down! sorry to see that Rachael. Shanna, all your things keep falling off the wall. That masking tape is horrible!
I think I am going to start making giant paintings again. I was caught up in trying to sell work so I began making smaller work. I really think I need 4 foot brushstrokes and drips that look like I took a water hose to the canvas. I will still make smaller work, but I really need to let loose.
Here are some images of what has been happening. paper candles, upside down bull and gino likes curious george.

And of course a pic of Gino.
